REFORCYL^®-AION

REFORCYL^®-AION is the water-based extract from the seeds (presscake) of the styrian pumpkin Cucurbita pepo var. styriaca. It contains valuable nutrients in form of amino acids and carbohydrates supporting the skin’s biology.

Maintenance of the epidermis is a life-long task for the skin. Steady supply of new cells and terminal differentiation from keratinocytes into corneocytes needs to be ensured. The transition site, the stratum granulosum is the area with most mitochondrial activity and autophagy in order to organise this differentiation process. External factors like UV and ROS and internal factors like ageing and stress reduces the capability for terminal differentiation, leading to a reduced skin barrier integrity and signs of ageing. REFORCYL^®-AION activates autophagy and increases the number of active mitochondria. By that, it powers up the epidermis and keeps the skin in good shape.

Clinical studies have shown that REFORCYL^®-AION strengthens the skin barrier, reduces desquamation and increases skin hydration. It regulates sebum production in a genderspecific manner. REFORCYL^®-AION leads to a significant improvement of numerous skin parameters, as judged by subjective experiences and visual inspection.

In-vitro studies have revealed that REFORCYL^®-AION induces autophagy while providing the cells with nutrients. At the same time, it increases the number of active mitochondria which is a guarantee for a fully functional terminal differentiation and ensures a pleasant appearance of the skin.
