Biomimicry: from nature to active ingredients
PERFELINE®-FIT is obtained by means of water-based extraction of Helichrysum italicum syn angustifolium. It contains chlorogenic acid and di-O-caffeoylquinic acids, which are used to reinforce the plant’s capillary system. We used this in a biomimetic way to strengthen the micro-vessels in human skin.
PERFELINE®-FIT inhibits nitric oxide synthase, responsible for the generation of the strong vasodilator nitric oxide.
Vascular insufficiency can lead to chronic oedema; in other words, the accumulation of fluid in body tissue that makes it swell.
As a consequence, puffy eyes and spider veins can develop; both very unsightly skin conditions that make us look tired or suggest we have an unhealthy lifestyle.
Even the feeling of “heavy legs” can be the result of increased fluid retention in the legs.
Clinical studies have shown that PERFELINE®-FIT significantly reduces the visibility of puffy eyes and spider veins.
It smoothes and soothes the skin by reducing the microcirculation. It even counteracts an increase in the microcirculation on exposure to heat stress,
thus reducing redness of the face.
In-vitro studies have revealed that PERFELINE®-FIT directly inhibits endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). This enzyme is responsible for the generation of nitric
oxide that causes vasodilation.
